New IoT gateway for old devices: BaseN launches its one of a kind Spime Enabler

::: news :::

BaseN enlarges its Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering and is happy to announce the launch of its new IoT gateway device, the Spime Enabler. With the Spime Enabler BaseN is now able to deploy its full stack to customers with own hardware, and by that bringing the required connectivity to old devices that have no means to connect to the cloud as of yet.

BaseN’s Spime Enabler is designed to work out-of-the-box with BaseN’s global Spime service, enabling not only rapid prototyping but also quick field installations with proven components.

The Spime Enabler contains comprehensive support for a wide variety of southbound industry standard protocols. Further, it will drastically shorten the time to market for devices and components that have not yet been upgraded to communicate via standard means over the internet.

It is available in several different models with different northbound connectivity options including 4G and fixed ethernet. It is further designed to fit electrical cabinets and be installed on a DIN rail.

Global full stack IoT Operator BaseN provides an inherently scalable computing Platform for hosting billions of spimes, the core objects of the Internet of Things. The spime of any object either resides in the Spime Enabler or in the cloud, dynamically depending on circumstances. BaseN currently handles over one million spime transactions per second, and enables the transformation from physical products to intelligent services in any industry.
