16 years of BaseN – 100 years of Finland

::: events :::

The year 2017 marks BaseN’s 16th Anniversary and the centennial of Finland as an independent state. The nation has flourished through “sisu” (a special kind of stamina) and so has BaseN, with the determination to bring upon the 4th industrial revolution with spimes in the Internet of Things.

Over the past months, BaseN Platform has reached over one million spime transactions per second, ensuring customers’ seamless mission critical operations and evolution to intelligent service providers. “Spime” is a neologism and portmanteau of “space + time”, coined by author and futurologist Bruce Sterling to describe the logical incarnation, and hence digital master object, of any thing. Unlike digital twins – mere replica of physical objects -, spimes record and control the full lifecycle of their physical representations as hardware and support software come and go.

Looking ahead, BaseN will push the spime concept even further with additional fundamental requirements for sustainability, maintainability, and reliability of the functions an IoT device performs. Spimes will emerge to be every company’s primary merchandise, stretching the importance of where, how and under what jurisdiction their products and services are being manifested. 100-year-old Finland is a great choice. Get spime’d with BaseN Platform.

BaseN Platform’s real time location and environment data collection and processing fuels the Finnish centennial’s Traveling Sauna which drew global attention to the technology forerunner and globally competitive country during this year.
