BaseN issues scholarship for Best Student Paper

The IEEE ComSoc International Communications Quality and Reliability Workshop 2020 announces this year’s award winners.

Continuing the tradition of this series of workshops, CQR 2020 provided an international technical forum for experts from industry and academia to exchange ideas and present results of ongoing research in various areas.

Accepted papers for IEEE CQR 2020 were submitted for inclusion in IEEE Xplore Digital Library after they were presented at the virtual conference.

The technical committee awards the best paper and also grants a scholarship to the best student paper. This year’s Best Paper Award was presented to the authors Go Hasegawa, Shuya Abe, and Masayuki Murata and their joint paper “Performance Analysis of Periodic Cellular-IoT Communication with Immediate Release of Radio Resources”

The Best Student Paper Scholarship, sponsored by BaseN Corporation, was presented to Concepcion Sanchez Aleman and her outstanding paper on “Leontief-Based Data Cleaning Workload Distribution Strategy for EH-MWSN”.

“At BaseN, we are always looking into new and innovative concepts such as spimes in the Internet of Things. When listening to Concepcion’s outstanding presentation, I quickly realized the importance of her work and am happy to present her with a scholarship to support her contribution and work”, says Pasi Hurri, President and CEO of BaseN Corporation who co-chaired this years IEEE CQR workshop. 

As the Vice Chair of the IEEE Finland Joint Chapter of Control System Society, Robotics and Automation Society and System, Man and Cybernetics Society, Pasi understands the need of fresh thinking and continuously encourages young aspiring engineers.
