BaseN Corporation, leader in scalable Digital Twin technologies and resilient critical infrastructure platforms, today announced that its CEO, Pasi Hurri, will chair the panel discussion at the upcoming IEEE seminar, “Quantum, Robotics, AI: Crossroads?”
Organized by the Finland Section of the IEEE Finland Joint Chapter of Control System Society, Robotics and Automation Society and System, Man and Cybernetics Society, the event takes place on October 5, 2026, at Dipoli, Aalto University in Espoo, Finland.
In addition to leading BaseN, Hurri serves as board member of the IEEE Finland section and a board member of the Joint Chapter of Control System Society, Robotics and Automation Society and System, Man and Cybernetics Society in Finland (CSS/RAS/SMCS) and as Senior Member of the IEEE internationally and as Member at Large for the global IEEE CQR (Communications Quality and Reliability) chapter. His leadership within IEEE highlights his commitment to connecting academic research with real-world industrial deployments across Europe.
“As AI enters mission-critical environments, combining it with quantum technologies brings both immense potential and complex architectural challenges,” says Pasi Hurri, CEO of BaseN. “Strong engineering standards and cross-disciplinary dialogue are vital to turning these theoretical advances into resilient industrial realities.”
The half-day seminar gathers prominent researchers and industry leaders from institutions such as Aalto University, Bluefors, and VTT to explore the convergence of quantum computing, advanced machine learning, and robotic automation.
Hurri will moderate the concluding panel session (15:30 – 16:20 EET), guiding the dialogue on how emerging quantum models and physical AI will shape autonomous control, industrial infrastructure, and digital sovereignty. Academic partners emphasize the importance of this joint exchange between theory and practice.
“Bringing quantum computing and physical AI together allows us to fundamentally rethink autonomous systems,” added Prof. Dominik Baumann, Assistant Professor at Aalto University. “Having Pasi moderate ensures we bridge cutting-edge research directly with real-world infrastructure.”
