On Saturday, August 3rd, 2013, Pasi Hurri, President and CEO of BaseN Corporation, hosted a panel about data security and surveillance at Assembly Summer 2013 in Helsinki, Finland. The other panel participants were PhD candidate Mrs. Päivikki Karhula, Security Researcher Mr. Mikko Särelä and Founder and President of Open Ministry (Avoin Ministeriä) Mr. Joonas Pekkanen. The panel discussed about reasonable limits on privacy-intrusive data collection and use.
Assembly Summer is an unique annual computer demo and gaming event in Finland that was first organized in 1992. Several thousand people attend the computer festival each year, generating a significantly high internet traffic, which sets high demands to the capacity and reliability of the network infrastructure.
