Technical Sales Engineer/ Account Manager, US-based

Job Description 

BaseN Corporation enables its customers to translate disjoint streams of data to actionable items and leveraging that to build real businesses on BaseN. We’re founded in 2001, have operations in 7 countries and provide a good and stable environment for all of our employees. Our main product is the BaseN Platform, a redundant, distributed collection of services for very high volume data reception, storage, monitoring, analysis, and visualization. 

We have six US patents for our spime technology, enabling customers to transform their businesses through next generation digital twins.

To keep up with the demand, we are expanding our international sales team with an US-based technical sales engineer/account manager. This is a remote working position, although in the future traveling within the US and occasionally to our headquarters in Finland will be part of the job.

In the US, our office is located in Sunnyvale, CA, but you can be based anywhere in the US.

We are looking for a well rounded person with technical knowledge, sales experience, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideally you have at least 1 year of technical sales experience.

Your tasks include:

  • Making cold calls and sending cold emails
  • Actively engage in identifying and closing of new business
  • Customer relationship management
  • Achieve clear sales goals
  • Present the company’s capabilities and solutions to the customer
  • Develop solutions and refine proposals, best suited to the customers needs, in conjunction with our headquarters in Finland
  • Evaluate and adjust technical solutions with the customer

Skills that we value for this position:

COMMUNICATIONS INTERNSHIP

We are searching for a communications intern to join our international sales and marketing team for six months. The ideal candidate sees this position as an opportunity to learn and grow professionally in an international work environment.

To be successful as communications intern, you have excellent communication skills and are good at producing engaging stories for journalists and potential clients alike. You also come with a drive to learn as much as possible about our company and how we enable companies to create new services, change their existing business models and to simply continuously innovate. In addition, you understand that the role of a communications professional is all about building lasting relationships with journalist and customers – based on a foundation of trust.

Communications Intern Responsibilities:

  • Cold calling and cold emailing
  • Conducting research to understand the news environment and what’s trending
  • Suggest innovative ideas for engaging content
  • Setup meetings and offer other administrative support for the Head of Communication
  • Write media announcements and press releases
  • Manage and update media lists and databases

Sales Intern Requirements:

  • Excellent English and overall communication skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
  • Passion and a true interest in the PR industry
  • Ability to cope with rejection
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm in hectic situations
  • At a minimum BBA or currently in the final stages of pursuing your first degree

The internship can be part-time or full-time and is suitable for a student nearing graduation. The internship is designed to be a remote internship, but you will have the option to work from our Helsinki office in case you will require a quiet work environment. SALES INTERNSHIP

  • Setting up meetings on behalf of the senior sales staff
  • Attending meetings to write meeting minutes and to learn how the company is being introduced to potential customers
  • Attending webinars and online conferences
