Spime IoT leader BaseN acquires ITvilla from Estonia, the Digital Citizenship country

BaseN acquires IoT company ITvilla from Estonia to form BaseN Baltics OÜ in a cash transaction of undisclosed value. 

ITvilla, founded in 2003, delivers remote monitoring and industrial automation solutions for smart buildings, utilities and the construction industry. 

BaseN has a long relationship with the company, having had a 25% stake in ITvilla since 2011. 

“Becoming part of the BaseN family is a rocket booster for us”, says Neeme Takis, CEO of ITvilla and the true Internet pioneer of Estonia. “We fit in perfectly to the spime concept and BaseN Platform.” 

The acquisition forms the electronics foundation of further expanding BaseN’s Internet of Things (IoT) leadership. Through attaining the deep knowledge and skills from ITvilla, BaseN gains an excellent track record what comes to sustainable mission critical customer service and trust. 

ITvilla is also capable of mass-producing the Spime Enabler reference hardware, which connects the physical and virtual worlds and connects programmable automation controllers, adapters, interfaces, meters and sensors. The option to include own hardware reference designs further strengthens BaseN’s ability to deliver scalable, industrial grade, cost effective and flexible IoT services. 

BaseN will also utilize Estonia’s skilled and competitive labor market and plans to quickly expand the BaseN Baltics team both in core BaseN Platform development and operational customer support functions.
