The Internet of Things (IoT) enriches every aspect of our lives, but when food goes digital the notion of who has the decision power over the food choices suddenly becomes vague.
FIF’s pre-event “The Internet of Food” offers the chance to discuss all different aspects of the topic after the presentation of expert speaker Mr. Johan Jörgensen. With this event, the Internet Society Special Interest Group for the Internet of Food tries to share it’s knowledge in this volatile and dynamic sector.
The event is free of charge and you can register right here. If you can’t make it personally, please feel free to join the live stream right here.
Dear BaseN customer,
In these unprecedented times our thoughts are with those who are impacted by COVID-19. As a company we currently focus on actions that reduce the global impact of this pandemic.
To keep everyone safe, BaseN migrated last week to a fully virtual operational model with our physical offices being closed globally. Our remote work environment which is inherent to BaseN, allows our teams to seamlessly continue their functions.
Ensuring Uptime for Customers and Partners
Every organization responding to this crisis needs agility and inherent scalability on demand – and BaseN ensures both. We’ve seen many customers develop ideas and quickly build and deploy them on BaseN Platform. Spime scale means that we have capacity to take on global workloads nobody could have anticipated just weeks ago.
We understand the importance of keeping all systems up and running during this time. With BaseN Platform’s scalable, fault tolerant and distributed architecture, we guarantee that there will be no disruptions in our service.
Please do not hesitate to approach us with any questions through info@basen.net or your dedicated account manager.
To conclude, I wish speedy recovery to all those who are ill. I also want to express gratitude to all medical professionals on the front line of treating those who are battling this virus, and to those who ensure in other ways that our society remains functional.
Kind regards, Pasi Hurri, President & CEO, BaseN

The concept of Earth Hour was initially developed in Australia, but quickly replicated on a global level, involving corporations, private citizens and officials alike.
Reducing our energy consumption is crucial to decrease the effect of global warming on this planet. We at BaseN take sustainability very serious and hence encourage all of our employees to participate and switch off the lights for an hour.
Due to the current situation with the severe outbreak of COVID-19, Earth Hour recommends to stay at home and virtually join the Earth Hour 2020.

The world IoT Day was started in 2010 and is an open invitation to the Internet of Things community. Ever since, the IoT Day has served globally as an opportunity for everyone within the industry to celebrate the constant evolution of the IoT.
Usually, IoT forerunners organize events, lunches and talks to raise awareness about IoT and what it means in the everyday life for all of us. With the COVID-19 situation still impacting most of us, this year the entire scope will be virtual.
To chime in with all our fellow IoT enthusiasts, BaseN will host a webinar on “How to select the right IoT platform for your needs” starting at 3pm CEST. You can sign up for the webinar right here: http://www.basen.net/webinar
