Johan Helsingius
is the founder of EUnet Finland, the first major commercial ISP in Finland. He was also one of the founders of the first pan-European ISP, EUnet International, and the CTO of the network operator KPNQwest. He is one of the founders of the Finnish UNIX Users Group (FUUG) as well as a former board member of EUUG/EurOpen and a participant in the IEEE POSIX standardization effort. He was named "Pioneer of The Electronic Frontier" by the EFF in 1997. Helsingius is especially interested in the opportunities of applying technology to enhance business activities - one of the main aspects of the BaseN offering.

Karl-Erik Palin
is the Chairman of the Board of Directors. His career in the Finnish industry has been long and successful. As a lawyer by profession he was for many years Vice President, General Counsel of Ahlstrom Corporation, the largest privately-owned enterprise in Finland. During his almost 30 years with Ahlstrom he was involved in numerous large mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisation, joint ventures and other international deals. He has served as a member of the Board of Ahlstrom subsidiaries in various countries and as the secretary to the parent company Board. He has also been a member of the Corporate Executive Team of the Ahlstrom Group.

Berndt Karsten
holds a master’s of science degree from the Helsinki University of Technology, 1968. With more than thirty years of experience in strategic management consulting, Berndt Karsten is a highly sought advisor to board members and senior executive of international public and private corporations. He has contributed to many successful business cases in matters concerning corporate and business strategy, management and leadership, restructuring and integration processes, and entrepreneurial coaching. He is currently serving as Chairman of the Board of Sirius Consulting Oy. He has also held executive and vice-president positions in various international consulting companies, including A.T. Kearney and Indevo.

Jan Inborr
was born in 1948, graduated in M.Sc. (Econ.). In 1970 he became the President and CEO of Ahlström Capital Oy where he has been a Board member since 2001. Currently serving as Chairman of the Board at Enics AG, Vacon Plc and Vice Chairman of the Board at Å&R Carton AB with additional position on the board of Nordkalk Corporation.
Mr. Inborr also serves in other key positions of trust as a Board member at Stiftelsen Åbo Akademi. Primarily he has gained his work experience as President and CEO at Ahlstrom Paper Group between 1996 and 2000. Deputy to the Group President and CEO, Ahlstrom Group between 1994-2000, Member of the Executive Board, Ahlstrom Group, 1985-2000, From 1972 to 1984 Mr Inborr served in various managerial positions, Ahlstrom Group.
